I appreciate very much the availability of your research work and believe that Rose Carter who was buried at Freedmen's Cemetery in 1864 is my paternal great-great grandmother born around 1785 on one of the Custis Plantations. My research indicates that she was a dower slave of George Washington's granddaughter and sold at age eleven by her husband, and assume it was to one of the Carter plantations. She gave birth to my great grandmother Nancy Lee in 1825 who was fathered by the freeborn son (abt 1778-1779) of William Lee (slave to George Washington). I would very much appreciate any additional information as to her. My email address is suzyq8@adelphia.net My website is: www.bradyresearch.com
